NEW MEMBERS
Members are asked to complete a form when enrolling. Information given on these forms may be kept in computerised records for the sole use of the Toy Library. We will need to update these records on an annual basis when you renew your membership, in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
CARE OF TOYS
Every effort is made
to ensure that all toys and play equipment in the Toy Library is kept in good
repair. The Toy Library is not responsible for any damage or injury resulting
from the use of any toy once borrowed or taken from the premises. Before
returning the toys please ensure that all parts and pieces are present and that
the toy is clean. Please repair any boxes that are broken and attach a note to
the toy if any part is missing or broken. Please also tell a staff member when
you return the toy.
BROKEN TOYS
Naturally, toys will wear out with use. However, if a toy is
unexpectedly returned in such a state that it cannot be lent out again, the member may be asked to make a donation towards the cost of a replacement. The amount requested would be at the discretion of the Library staff.
LATE RETURNS
A renewal charge
(equivalent to 4 weeks rental) will be made once a toy is returned more than 7
days late and again after each interval of 4 weeks
RUNNING OF THE TOY LIBRARY
The Toy Library is run entirely by volunteers. It is
requested that each member will volunteer for at least one Saturday morning
session a year. A committee member or trained Key holder is always on site to
ensure the session runs smoothly, and helpers are given four free toy vouchers
as a thank you for each session attended.
